if it isn’t obvious already, we love fashion. by watching live streams & reading recaps, we attempted to virtually put ourselves in the front row during nyfw. now we’re dreaming of paris & pantsuits {a la jessica chastain} & living vicariously through rachel zoe on bravo {thank the good lord she is back}.

in that same vein, we are so excited to feature a girl whose closet we covet & job we envy: christina mannino, nyc-based fashion designer/creative director of DEIVIE – a womenswear label “catering to girly girls, party girls, city girls, witty girls & pretty girls.” & seriously, what’s cooler than having your own fashion line? nothing really, aside from dating the lead singer of a band… but wait, christina does that too.

so with that preamble, we all know this girl is fierce. we had to ask her our 5 favorite questions, so that you can better acquaint yourself with the brains & beauty behind the DEIVIE brand.

annacroswell: we’re accessory obsessed, so we have to ask, what’s your favorite accessory/piece of jewelry & why?

christina: well mainly my gold DEIVIE signature ring! it is of my logo which I spent a lot of time developing & is really important to me as my line is my life! In addition to that, though, I have this insanely amazing gold gucci bracelet watch that was passed down to me from my italian grandmother. bracelets and rings are my main things when it comes to jewelry so those are my go-tos to accessorize ANY outfit  

annacroswell: what’s your go-to karaoke song?

christina: “i’m just a girl” by gwen stefani !!! i love it because it’s upbeat and fun. 

annacroswell: who inspires you?

christina: kelly cutrone! i read her book and it was so amazing to hear how she worked her way to the top. she is an amazing person and an extremely hard worker with a talented eye. i had the privilege of getting advice from her once and it was EXACTLY what i needed to hear! 

annacroswell: what is one word to describe the DEIVIE girl? 

christina: ELECTRIC

annacroswell: and most importantly, in your opinion, what do you think makes a woman “fierce”?

christina: confidence makes a woman fierce! confidence – whether from beauty, talent, smarts, etc. – gives a woman the strength to take on whatever she wants & get after it. especially in fashion, it is extremely important to be assertive and exude a powerful, in-control vibe — the industry thrives on women who know they have it together. example of a FIERCE woman: DVF — she built an empire on being lovely & glamourous & feminine. she is a high-powered, brilliant beauty. and that is FIERCE!
