the biggest night in music happened last night and as always the attendees showed up in style. florence was wearing the color of the year {and of her eyes} emerald green and beyoncé was rocking the black/white combo {as a pantsuit!?} that’s so on trend this season. apparently there was a modesty dress-code “memo” that went out that everyone kept referencing. and j. lo was jokingly held partially responsible — per that memorable green dress of yore.

but as the dresses always get the attention, we’re going to zoom in on the crowning jewels of the evening {i.e., highlight what’s really important – biased based on our interests & also partially based on price tag}.

grammy winner carrie underwood’s 381 carat diamond necklace that she paired with a black floor-length roberto cavalli. kind of reminds us of jessica alba’s harry winston last month. we also just love carrie & her downhome charm no matter how big she gets or how big her diamonds are.

katy’s mint green gucci with the embellished neckline that almost {but didn’t really} distract from her buxom bosom. this color also went nicely with her date john mayer’s royal purple jacket. her red carpet style was more serious than what she usually opts for, and we loved this look on her. katy’s growing up. maybe/we hope john will soon, too.

ogling over florence welch’s rings: a statement gem and pair of coils & snakes. we think they perfectly complement her “serpenty’ green gown, custom-made givenchy.

well we’d love to wax poetic about him, but the real stars of this shot are jessica’s emerald statement earrings. paired with the classic black oscar de la renta gown next to her leading man, we’re loving the pair{ing}. also, they sat next to jay z & beyoncé. double-date domination.

and rihanna, always striking, opted for neil lane {and three rings in a row a la florence welch} and a red azzedine alaia number.

other takeaways: the band fun is/was really fun. and we wish we could be lena dunham, because while she’s collecting oscars her boyfriend is collecting grammys.

but alas, we’re not. so back to work. happy monday!
